Description of problem: Unsure if by design but within Mageia-4-LiveCD-KDE4-en-i586-CD the Mageia Welcome is not started on first boot. Opening the app shows the option to show window at startup is checked.

I had the same question first but after some thinking I think it is.

Even the welcoming message (Thank you for choosing Mageia!) refers to the fact that you have installed Mageia. On live media it's just testing.

Also, checking the top I can see that it's taking almost 100MB memory (at least on x86_64). On live media you are short on memory anyway. Especially if you are looking for replacement for your Windows XP and you don't have the latest and greatest hardware.
