Description of problem: qt4-devel and some more packages won't install because I just installed Mageia 3 (again) on my PC using the netboot-iso and everything went fine.

Once logged into the GNOME-desktop I deleted all the Backports and Testing-medias & checked if there were any updates, but there weren't any.

Here's the list of my current medias that I'm using:

I wanted to install qt4-devel to get cmake and got the error shown in the attached text-document.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 7.27.3-2

How reproducible: I can reproduce this many times.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mageia 3 only with GNOME.
2. Login to GNOME.
3. Remove Backports and Testing-medias and check the boxes to use the rest of the medias.
4. Make sure you're fully updated.
5. Now open a terminal & type urpmi qt4-devel as root & press Enter.
6: Voila! qt4-devel doesn't install.

I see this when trying to install the buildrequires for wine.

Installation failed:  docbook-dtd31-sgml < 1.0-58.mga3 is obsolete (installed) docbook-dtds-1.0-58.mga3.noarch
	docbook-style-dsssl >= 1.72 needed by docbook-utils-0.6.14-16.mga3.noarch
	perl-SGMLSpm >= 1.03ii needed by docbook-utils-0.6.14-16.mga3.noarch
	devel(libjson-c(64bit)) needed by lib64pulseaudio-devel-3.0-7.mga3.x86_64
While some packages may have been installed, there were failures.
Following packages can not be installed because they depend on packages that are older than the installed packages:
lib64glapi0-devel-9.1.3-1.1.mga3.tainted
lib64mesagl1-devel-9.1.3-1.1.mga3.tainted
lib64mesaglu1-devel-9.0.0-2.mga3
A desired package can not be installed:
librsvg-2.36.4-2.mga3.x86_64 (to keep librsvg-2.36.4-2.1.mga3.x86_64)

That's not an urpmi bug but either a packaging issue or more probably a local configuration issue

A local configuration issue? Where? Please guide me. I told you what medias I've got. What else do I need to check? :)

"Following packages can not be installed because they depend on packages that are older than the installed packages" - do you understand what that message says? Something that you are installing needs a rebuild as it depends on a package that is probably updated. You now need to figure out which package needs a rebuild..

as ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/3/x86_64/media/core/updates/librsvg-2.36.4-2.1.mga3.x86_64.rpm is available on updates_testing and your urpmi tells not it seems your updates repo is not available.

@Sander:  as this is a stable release this is not that a rebuild is needed but that medias are not well configured/enabled.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
