Description Dick Gevers 2014-01-06 21:27:38 CET
Description of problem:

Have an Mageia 3.1 system installed with language x and keyboard y as default.

Use a classical Mageia 4 iso (32 or 64 bits) to upgrade.

The installer asks which language should be used, default setting to English (American). But this is not logical, because the system already has M3 installed with choice already recorded as language x.

And the installer also asks which keyboard layout should be used. This also is not logical, because the system has M3 with choice recorded as using keyboard y.

If possible, please avoid such questions when upgrading Mageia $i to Mageia $i+1.

And same for country: in summary default choice is given as united Kingdom, although country of choice in M3 is Netherlands. As unlogical as above.

Those questions are asked _before_ asking you whether to upgrade or not.

Those are asked logically before asking anything else or displaying technical questions in a language not understood by everyone.
