Description magnux77 2014-01-05 19:36:09 CET
Description of problem:
The rpm "xfce4-power-manager" is not installed when XFCE is selected at install even if the hardware is a laptop with a battery.

So, the function "Power Management" does not exist in Xfce Settings. It can not be customized. There is a XFCE "power plugin" that is not so smart as "xfce4-power-manager". Users may believe the worst is tyhe only one
Differences :
power-plugin : is not in Xfce Settings, must be configured from rigth click on the icon in the control panel, is displayed as an icon in teh Control Panel
xfce4-power-manager : is in Xfce Settings, can be configured form Xfce Settings, is displayed as a smaller icon in the Notification Zone in the Panel Control

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mageia with XFCE as Destop Environment
2. CCM shows there is no "xfce4-power-manager"
Xfce Settings does not contain any Power Management item.
The functionnality of power management is a big ugly icon in the Control Panel rather than a small smart icon in the Notification Zone

should be fixed in RC (coming soon), or if you can test with a netinstall:
