martynvidler looks to work here (using a png from userdrake)

confirmed but should be in a separate bugSummary:
Desktop back ground wont stick after reboot =>
Desktop background wont stick after reboot Nope I have tried again I even put the picture in xfce background dir. I changed desktop background by right click on desktop, desktop settings and also settings display "although the same" Also as mentioned if I change to 1 from drop down list it still wont stick after reboot. Can't reproduce this issue with freshly installed mga4b2. Tried with image dl'ed from the Internet and images coming with Xfce. 1. Which dm are you using? 2. Could you do 'grep image-path ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-desktop.xml' before and after reboot? 3. Are any other settings reverted to "default value" after reboot? CC:

Desktop background wont stick after reboot =>
Xfce desktop background wont stick after reboot Hi

cat Documents/before.txt

<property name="image-path" type="string" value="/usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/xfce-blue.jpg"/>
After was not there
cat Documents/after.txt
<property name="image-path" type="string" value="/home/spiky/Pictures/Planet1.png"/>
<property name="image-path" type="string" value="/usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/xfce-blue.jpg"/>
1. Anything weird in ~/.xsession-errors? 2. Could you attach ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-desktop.xml? 3. Do you have more than one displays? 4. Does this also happen with a fresh/new user? Created attachment 4683 [details]

1 Only error in .xsession-errors is "Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" 2 File attached above 3 There is only 1 display 4 The same when new user added. I only used a image from drop down list, but still wont stick. 5. Under the drop down list there are 3 buttons (+ - and edit) only the add button works the remove and edit button are greyed out? Ok update I added a logout button "which is not loaded by default" there is a tick box save session which I unticked, "although i had done this in settings/session startup". Also an update this morning when restarted image had stuck??? And after many tries still sticks so Thanks for your help Just a thought would it not be a good idea to have a Logout option as default? If all works OK, please close this as WORKSFORME. We can reopen this later if needed. Closing as WORKSFORME. Status:
