Description PC LX 2013-12-15 13:22:05 CET
Description of problem:

This issue occurs in Mageia 4 beta 2. I've installed using the boot-nonfree.iso for AMD64. Don't know if it occurs for other types of installs.

Display manager login box is off centre and background is cropped as if the DM thinks the screen resolution is larger than it really is.

The screens before and after (GRUB, plymouth, X session start splash, X session) display correctly.

Also, simply doing MCC > "Boot" > "Set up Display Manager" > "KDM Display Manager" > "Ok" solves the problem. In the next login the screen is displayed correctly (the login box is centred and the background image is correct).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kdm-4.11.3-1.mga4

How reproducible:

Installed twice and the issue occurred both times.

Interesting. I thought what you did from MCC runs drakedm which just sets which DM to run, but doesn't change the DM's configuration, but it sounds like it is getting changed. A diff of /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc from before and after doing this might be helpful.

I don't have the just after installation kdmrc so I'll have to repeat the installation. Will do it when I get some free time, hopefully still this year :-).

Apparently not :P.

Is this bug still present in Mageia 4 final after a fresh install? If so, is it present in Mageia 5RC (due very soon?).
