Description Dave Hodgins 2013-12-05 01:38:53 CET
Trying to install using the Dec. 2nd boot-nonfree.iso fails with
* selecting mageia-release-Default-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64
* requiring mageia-release-common()(64bit) for mageia-release-Default-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64
* no packages match mageia-release-common()(64bit) (it is either in skip.list or already rejected)
* unselecting mageia-release-Default-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64
* unselecting basesystem-minimal-2-17.mga4.x86_64
* unselecting basesystem-2-17.mga4.x86_64
* adding a reason to already rejected package mageia-release-Default-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64: unsatisfied mageia-release-common()(64bit)

The error displayed is
* error: Some packages requested by basesystem cannot be installed:
mageia-release-Default-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied mageia-release-common()(64bit))
mageia-release-common-4-0.3.mga4.x86_64 (due to conflicts with kernel-desktop-3.12.3-1.mga4-1-1.mga4.i586, due to conflicts with kernel-desktop-latest-3.12.3-1.mga4.i586) at /usr/lib/libDrakX/install/pkgs.pm line 287.

Strange thing is, even though I specified distrib/cauldron/x86_64 in the
mirror add, it seems to have added i586 repos as well.

I'll attach the report.bug output.

Ignore the comment about adding i586 repos. Brain block there. However
* bestKernelPackage (-desktop): kernel-desktop-latest
* selecting kernel-desktopatest-3.12.3-1.mga4.i586
* requiring kernel-desktop-3.12.3-1.mga4 for kernel-desktop-latest-3.12.3-1.mga4.i586
* selecting kernel-desktop-3.12.3-1.mga4-1-1.mga4.i586

This is using the x86_64 boot-nonfree-iso, and an x86_64 mirror.
Comment 3 Dave Hodgins 2013-12-05 02:17:44 CET
I now suspect this is due to my local mirror being in the middle of syncing.
the latest kernel build. I'll wait till it finishes, then test again, before
closing this bug report.
Comment 4 Dave Hodgins 2013-12-05 04:50:06 CET
Confirmed to be a mirror sync problem.
