Thanks for the bug report.
Could you provide the file /root/drakx/report.bug.gz as an attachment ?
If you don't have the file, you can switch to console 2 (by pressing 'Ctrl-Alt-F2') during installation, put a floppy in floppy drive or plug a USB key/stick and type: 'bug' then press Enter. It will put report.bug on the floppy/key.

Here is the report.bug you asked me. Please note it is a ".xz" not a ".gz"

>Here is the report.bug you asked me. Please note it is a ".xz" not a ".gz"
ah indeed, fixed in my stock response script.

I didn't find any kde package installed with lxde with the initial install from dvd.

For the XFCE part, you can run urpmi --debug task-xfce( or with -minimal) and then attach the result here
Comment 4 Manuel Hiebel 2013-10-12 11:18:02 CEST
btw you are excluding your bugzilla bugs (in case you don't know)

1° I didn't find any kde packages in the package_list.pl before.
2° Neither in the output of "urpmi --debug task-xfce"
3° My english is very poor , i don't understand what you mean by "btw you are excluding your bugzilla bugs (in case you don't know)"

Before install LXDE there has been an alpha1 KDE. If i am sure i made an install alpha3 LXDE i don't remember about formatting / partition or not. But it's a default.

you need to unistall xfce to have a clean environment, and test urpmi --debug

btw = by the way
When I answered, the bugzilla interface say me that your are excluding notify (it can be modify here: https://bugs.mageia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email)
In case you know, it it's ok.

Out put of " urpmi --debug task-xfce"

Not any KDE packages !

Im giong to replay the same install LXDE + XFCE and i 'll tell you.
Comment 9 magnux77 2013-10-13 20:44:51 CEST
I found the reason why there is ked packakges.

As i told you i replay an install from DVD alpha3 and the installer skipped the partitionning step. No choice possible, no formatting, just reuse existing partitions. That's why packages from alpha1 KDE were still there in an install LXDE + XFCE.

I killed the install to play it one more to test the different choices and post a clear bug. But one choice destroyed the partitions and it has not be possible to replay the install with the skipped step of partitionning.

I think this bug can be closed.

Thanks

After a check in your report.bug in this seems to have been proposed:
Utiliser les partitions existantes,Effacer et utiliser le disque tout entier,Partitionnement de disque personnalisé
You did:
Utiliser les partitions existantes
And then I see:
* formatting device sda1 (type ext4)
* running: mkfs.ext4 -F -U 76662d3c-d446-4925-99fd-e45c9c32be74 /dev/sda1

But anyway it's ok, if you can't reproduce lets closing. Thanks for your test.
Feel free to reopen in case you can again.

(attachment 4434 [details] was still make in an environment with xfce)

Sure. It's written in the report.bug but I did NOT.
I'm sure the installer skipped the partitionning step. But, it's obvious, you won't believe me. I was very careful when i played the install as i thought it was the origin of the problem. And it is no more possible to reproduce it.

Is there any other explication for that KDE remaining packages. Cause, i'm not fool I never install without formatting sda1.

Anyway, closed.

Comment 13 magnux77 2013-10-15 19:18:11 CEST
When I closed the bug I said that I lost my partitions cause I switch off during installation to test the installer cause I thought that the installer skipped formatting.

So i have to install one more. I verified the sda1 was empty, the installer formatted the sda1. The same install with LXDE first then when it is done XFCE by drakconf.

I have been very surprised to see that / was fat :
Sys. de fichiers Taille Utilisé Dispo Uti% Monté sur
/dev/sda1 9,7G 2,6G 6,6G 29% /

I took a look at the packages then I saw again the KDE packages ! In the /root/drakx/report.bug.yz i did not see any choice LXDE, I hope you will.

KDE come with xfce install no ?
So provide the urpmi log not installer one
Comment 15 Dave Hodgins 2013-10-15 22:47:22 CEST
I just did an install, to test this. Selected custom, unselected kde, selected
lxde and xfce with no other changes to package selection.

# rpm -qa|grep kde
lockdev-1.0.4-0.120111007git.6.mga4
lib64lockdev1-1.0.4-0.120111007git.6.mga4

# rpm -qa|grep task|sort
lxtask-0.1.4-2.mga3
meta-task-4-7.mga4
task-lxde-3-5.mga3
task-lxde-minimal-3-5.mga3
task-pulseaudio-2011.0-3.mga3
task-x11-1-3.mga3
task-xfce-minimal-4.10-3.mga3
xfce4-taskmanager-1.0.0-5.mga3

So lxde and xfce were both installed, as requested, and no kde packages.
# df
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 16G 2.9G 12G 20% /

Installing task-xfce after booting into the installed system is only adding
To satisfy dependencies, the following packages are going to be installed:
  Package Version Release Arch
(medium "Core Release")
  lib64mpd1 11.8.17 3.mga3 x86_64 (suggested)
  task-xfce 4.10 3.mga3 noarch
  xfmpc 0.2.2 3.mga3 x86_64 (suggested)

So it works for me.

The installer uses rpmsrate-raw to install things. Could be that somehow some KDE package is listed in CAT_XFCE. See http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/meta-task/current/SOURCES/rpmsrate-raw?view=markup.

No urpmi logs exist, you need to create them, as I say you in comment 7, and this when you install xfce for the first time

@Olav, I see no kde package in the rpmsrate, but anyway, epilip install xfce after the reboot, and here the rpmsrate is not used with urpmi
Comment 19 magnux77 2013-10-16 16:05:16 CEST
It's the 3rt time i do, in a very attentive way, the same install alpha3 : No KDE, LXDE, no Update and after reboot XFDE.
The install is different at each time.
Once rpmdrake first is mandatory, other times not.
Once after Xfce install, many orphans, other times not any.
Once KDE packages are installed, other times not.

When Mageia4 is on, (!)Mageia Updates raise. Cauldron is always moving so the tests can not be serious. I think i'm wasting my time. So i'm going to closed that bug and hope the problem will be solved later.
Comment 20 Manuel Hiebel 2013-10-16 16:18:49 CEST
Well in all this thread, I have not seen you listed even any suspect rpm list...
No info, closing as you said.

If nobody notices or report bugs in development release, no, it will likely be still in the stable, but we need real facts.

You told i did list any suspect kde package; Yes, there are a lot of them in "new report.bug.yz". But you have not had a look at it, you presume the problem is Xfce.
