Description of problem:
At random times, when I click on an icon, XFdesktop crashes.  All icons disappear and right-clicking on the desktop no longer raises a menu.  Another Ubuntu thread fixed it by checking "Let xfce manage the desktop," but I can no longer find that box.  The fix in the above URL works.

This has apparently been around in Xfce since 2007!

When the bug happens, please attach ~/.xsession-errors.

I believe that this one has gone away.  I have a separate issue with xfwm4.
