Description macxi 2013-10-08 22:37:45 CEST
Description of problem:

Add "gdal-python" as a mandatory dependency on installing Qgis

The package "python-gdal" is prerequisite to install the python plugin "openLayer plugin", that allows to work with OSM maps, GoogleMaps etc.

The lack of this package "gdal-python" results in error warnings, as commented in the bug 9622:

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9620

Unfortunately this package no more has a dedicated active maintainer. Although the suggested fix is very easy, I don't know gdal enough to decide to add it.

Thierry, Christiaan and Dimitrios, you were the last three who touched this package. Can one of you handle this apparently simple task if this is a valid suggestion?
