Description Helge Hielscher 2013-10-01 20:13:52 CEST
Description of problem: after a partial update yesterday (about 500 of 2000 packages) I can not run rpm anymore

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): don't know, I tried to copy the files of lib64ncursesw5-5.9-11.mga4.x86_64.rpm manually, but that did not fix the problem

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
# rpm
rpm: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libncursesw.so.5: undefined symbol: _nc_putchar
# less
less: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libncursesw.so.5: undefined symbol: _nc_putchar

Reproducible:

still valid ? seems you are alone to see this (usually there is quicly some message on dev ml for such issue)
Comment 2 Helge Hielscher 2013-10-03 15:28:04 CEST
Yes, still valid. It doesn't depend on what kernel I boot.
xosview shows 1 cpu core with 100% USR and ksysguard shows applet.py with 17% as top process (bug 11294 ?). top and htop belong to the group of programs that no longer work.
Nothing else is unusual.

Please tell me if someone wants to investigate this issue, otherwise I am going to install a fresh Mageia into this partition this weekend.

no ideas personnaly
Comment 4 Helge Hielscher 2013-10-12 07:41:51 CEST
Upgrading with alpha2 did not help, so I installed alpha2/cauldron.
(alpha3 had issues with mouse/keyboard)
