ennael1 See similar issues with LXDE in bug 11158 (polkit?) It works fine with IceWM logged in from KDM. If, when running poweroff/reboot in an xterm it's asking for root password, that usually means that it thinks that there's another user logged in. I saw that happen in Cauldron before Mageia 3, but haven't seen it happen since. It is polkit that now controls poweroff/reboot, but maybe xdm/lightdm aren't doing something they should be. CC:
