Description Shelly Long 2013-08-25 09:22:09 CEST
Using default KDE on a new Mageia installation with Evolution installed. Entering all the mail POP and SMTP details works OK but when I ask Evolution to get mail it locks up after showing the getting mail popup window.

I fixed this by using Seahorse to setup a new Gnome-keyring. It appears that Evolution expects a default keyring to exist before it can call to gnome-keyring successfully and by default the Mageia installation does not create one.

After I had Seahorse save a default keyring, Evolution would correctly ask for my mail password before trying to download mail. Everything is now working correctly.

I can confirm this bug on Mageia 4 Alpha 2 and Gnome-keyring with mail-notification. After install of Gnome-keyring, the folder ~/local/share/keyrings is empty. Mail-notification does not work, gnome-keyring does not ask to store the passwords. But gnome-keyring is running.

Bug did not exist with multiple installs of Mageia 3.

Fixed it by copy my entries in ~/local/share/keyrings from my Mageia 3 installation to my Mageia 4 Alpha 2 installation. Everything works fine again.

Gnome-keyring was updated today, but still the keyrings-folder is empty after clean install. Mail-notification works only with described workaround.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
