[root@jackodesktop baz]# /usr/libexec/at-spi-registryd (process:7566): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the D-BUS daemon: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. GConf Error: No D-BUS daemon running [root@jackodesktop baz]# systemctl |grep dbus dbus.service loaded active running D-Bus System Message Bus dbus.socket loaded active running D-Bus System Message Bus Socket I'm lost :\ I'm going to drop gok from distribution as it's old GNOME 2.x pkg. Try caribou instead. See also: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.accessibility.general/7866 CC:

RESOLVED Thanks - good idea. However: Caribou - also broken - installed it but no GUI or desktop file, launching from terminal just hangs with no output - gave up. :( Florence - also broken - (some key labels missing) :( Onboard - brilliant - just works perfectly out of the box :) |
Gok appears to be useless in Mageia3 and Cauldron with both Gnome and KDE. Starting in terminal the following error messages appear along with a gui matrix of 9 pushbuttons - none of which appear to do anything. ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup. ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: Could not locate registry /dev/js0: No such file or directory (gok:2923): Bonobo-CRITICAL **: bonobo_unknown_ping: assertion 'object != NULL' failed ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup. ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: Could not locate registry (gok:2923): Bonobo-CRITICAL **: bonobo_unknown_ping: assertion 'object != NULL' failed ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup. ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: Could not locate registry Warning: AT-SPI error: getting event controller: Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/INV_OBJREF:1.0' (gok:2923): Bonobo-CRITICAL **: bonobo_unknown_ping: assertion 'object != NULL' failed ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at session startup. ** (gok:2923): WARNING **: Could not locate registry Warning: AT-SPI error: getDesktopCount: Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/INV_OBJREF:1.0'
