Description Bicycle RepairMan 2013-08-02 18:42:07 CEST
Description of problem: Kipi and Telepathy are installed by default and have to be removed manually. Is there a reason why this is so and those packages aren't optional like almost all of the other software? IMHO/AFAIK almost nobody uses those functionalities, yet they are installed by default and take up unneccessary space. To keep Mageia as responsible and small as possible, those packages should be removed from the default installation.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
all installation media up to Mageia 3

How reproducible:
install Mageia 3, rpm -qa | grep kipi, rpm -qa | grep telepathy

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install Mageia 3
2. rpm -qa | grep kipi or rpm -qa | grep telepathy

they are needed by a kde component, don't remember which one

so it depends off your definition of "default"

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
