Triaged Converting a jaunty .deb package into an rpm has solved the problem. Video works. Perhaps you could convert it too and add it to the repositories Dropping patch 8 in revision 391117 allowed xvidcap to build, but means it compiles without ffmpeg. I have looked around the web but cannot find a replacement patch to work with current ffmpeg. CC:

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago. http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/ Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Description of problem: Multi-frame recording option is missing from the preferences of xvidcap therefore cannot set a filename or a location to save to record video. This is clean install using my old home partition. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.1.7-5 How reproducible: Every time I start xvidcap Steps to Reproduce: 1.
