if they connect up an iphone, it is discerned.
If they open dolphin they realize that it does not come.
But If they open dolphin at root, it's possible to connect the iphone.

this is still a problem. I am using Mageia3 x86_64 with all updates and kernel 3.10.40.
When I plug in my iPhone it is shown in dmesg and shows up as an ethernet wired connection.
It also appears as "Camera" in the "Avialable Devices" widget. But there is no way to mount it from there, nor does it appear in Dolphin.
It does appear in Nautilus.
This is repeatable every time I attach the phone.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
