Please update Python to version 2.7.5.

Currently 2.7.3 is delivered with Mageia 3.

Python 2.7.4 was released on April 6, 2013. This is a 2.7 series bugfix release. It includes hundreds of bugfixes over 2.7.3.

Python 2.7.5 was released on May 15, 2013. It contains several regression fixes to 2.7.4. Modules with regressions fixed include zipfile, gzip, and logging.

Testing mga3 64

Confirmed bug 10102 is fixed.

$ cd test
$ virtualenv --distribute .
$ source bin/activate
$ pip install fabric

It built successfully.

Tested python & tkinter using random examples from here, run in idle:
http://wiki.python.org/moin/SimplePrograms

Tested MGA3 32

Updated Python to 2.7.5-1.1.mga3

Ran similar test as comment2
And other examples I found on  internet
Tested using Gedit and Terminal
