Description Gene Alexander 2013-06-14 22:36:10 CEST
Description of problem:

The Broadcom bnx2 driver randomly closes the NIC connection and restarts many times over a 24 hour period. This is a known bug in a specific release of the driver as is shown on the URL I included with this report. This is a serious problem when running a server that provides SAMBA shares to many Microsoft Windows clients.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mageia 3 on any system with an affected Broadcom NIC.
2. Load the bnx2 driver.
3. After 24 hours check /var/log/messages for these type of entries:

# grep bnx2 /var/log/messages| grep "Down\|Up"

Can you post output of "lspcidrake -v" for that card so I know exactly what hw you have

Comment 3 Marja Van Waes 2015-03-31 16:04:47 CEST
Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
