The offending file.
This is the file - moo1-new.mp3 that causes the problem.
I should note that the problem is that I cannot distinctively hear the "moo" sound there, whereas I can using mpg321 and VLC and ffmpeg -i *.mp3 foo.wav etc. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish

Triaged Confirmed. This works: mplayer -ac ffmp3 moo1-new.mp3 When it doesn't work, it's using libmad for playback. libmad itself should be fine, as mpg321 uses that, and that works fine as you noted. I confirmed this as an issue on Mageia 3 actually. Is this still an issue on current Cauldron? If not, if you can find which commit fixed it (nothing stands out to me): http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-cvslog/ then we could do an update. Version:

All (In reply to David Walser from comment #4) > I confirmed this as an issue on Mageia 3 actually. > > Is this still an issue on current Cauldron? > On x86-64 Cauldron: * «mplayer moo1-new.mp3» does not play the file properly. * «mplayer -ac ffmp3 moo1-new.mp3» plays the file fine. * «mpg321 moo1-new.mp3» plays the file fine. * «vlc moo1-new.mp3» plays the file fine. So the symptoms of the bug still exist. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish > If not, if you can find which commit fixed it (nothing stands out to me): > http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-cvslog/ > > then we could do an update. Ahh interesting. This should be reported upstream then. http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/ Version:

Fixed in Cauldron in mplayer-1.1.1-2.r36361.1.mga4. Added in SVN for Mageia 3. Version:
