I do not understand the solution: is it for the normal user (but what shall I do ?) or the mantainer ?

The workaround is to run (as root)
chmod g-s /usr/bin/glchess

As installed, glchess has setgid for the group games.
Not only is this not needed, for the game to work, it
actually stops it from working.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
