Description of problem:

In the mcc, compiz rpm for magiea 3 is the 0.9.9 wich is the unstable version incopatible with many compiz goodies. a new stable version 0.8.9 is now availlable and use of 0.9.x is not advisable.

Well maybe, but right now even on the IRC chanel of #compiz, they advise a downgrade....
Comment 3 Julien Moragny 2013-06-08 19:09:36 CEST
Hi,

compiz 0.9.x is where the dev is. The choice to go to 0.9.x has been made for mga2 (which has 0.9.7.x). The development is on launchpad at https://launchpad.net/compiz ; theses version are the base of ubuntu unity since age.

FTR, compiz 0.8.9 has not been announced and is not available outside development tree in compiz.org.

regards.
Julien

Compiz was not working at all in mageia 2 :p I should have submit that bug at that time, but there was other thing more important to do on the computer at that time
Comment 5 Julien Moragny 2013-06-08 21:26:34 CEST
It worked for others... me included (and it works at this moment since I'm writing this message on mga2 with compiz 0.9).

Anyway, this is not a bug, and I won't revert to 0.8.x for mga2 mga3 nor cauldron.
So closed at wontfix.
