Actually I see these are now included by default in an installation from the classical installer as well, but it looks as if it's not a quick and easy job to remove them in LXDE, so that's an upstream issue not a Mageia issue. Carolyn Status:

RESOLVED I checked our wiki page on LXDE, some of which I wrote, and I see I wrote there that the desktop icons can be removed by right-clicking and selecting Delete, so I must have been able to do it successfully in Mga2. Status:

REOPENED I got the same problem and found the fix for /usr/bin/startlxde. After line 15, the following line is missing and must be added back: $OPENBOX_CONF_DIR="$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/openbox" Then startlxde will stop believing that it's its first start, and will thus stop re-creating those desktop files again and again.
