Description Derek Jennings 2013-05-17 12:07:45 CEST
In Mageia 3 Release Candidate installed on a Toshiba Portege PP410E laptop

Installation worked OK but on reboot X does not start.
Examination of the xorg.log shows

"Failed to load .. trident_drv.so... undefined symbol : TRIDENT_Sync"

If I select the vesa driver it works OK

Unfortunately I do not have SVN access.
Comment 3 Thierry Vignaud 2013-05-17 17:22:11 CEST
You can use "mgarepo co x11-driver-video-trident" in order to checkout the package, patch and build it locally.
If that package suceeed, you can attach here the patch and even ask to have a mentor in order to became a packager (the next logical step after providing patches to drakx :-) )
