Description of problem:
Wireless RTL8187b not working on installed system, but worked on live cd on install. While installing I accepted to remove unused packages. kernel-firmware-nonfree was ticked in install software,

I did a reinstall and left unused packages unticked wifi works on installed system.

As I saw the option to remove unwanted packages I did so out of instinct, There could be an option to select what packages you want to remove and leave. Just a thought.

This is because Thomas added the following to rpmsrate:
  5 DRIVER"bcma" || DRIVER"ssb" kernel-firmware-nonfree

Source RPM: (none) => meta-task

Fix is to remove that line and to upload broadcom-bcma-config & broadcom-ssb-config that requires kernel-firmware-nonfree

Fixed in SVN. Need to upload meta-task & broadcom-wireless-config

No can do...

core packages cant require nonfree ones.

We should not list any condition for kernel-firmware-nonfree in rpmsrate IMHO, but just install it by default (if nonfree repo is enabled).

Otherwise, users may have issues with hotplugged hardware added after install.

We already do if they dont block suggests

kernel-firmware suggests kernel-firmware-nonfree

Nope. only "Requires" as core must be selfcontained

Just adding some (limited) feedback from a user:

A user/reviewer reported today on #mageia that he experienced the same issue: Wireless was working in the KDE LiveDVD, but not after the install. The only other info that I have is that he has a Realtek chip, and was using a "nonfree driver module" while running Mageia Live.

Sadly, I could not get more feedback, so I'm not reopening the bug or opening a new one:

<ShalokShalom> no access to the internet is a show stopper, in my Opinion.
