Description claire robinson 2013-05-13 13:57:24 CEST
Testing pre 3 final kde livecd.

Plugged in a usb bluetooth adapter but no icon is shown in notification area.

dmesg shows it recognised and journal shows it cannot add dependency job for unit bluetooth.service. Suspect it is just missing something from the ISO.

Dmesg output when connected/disconnected..

Comment 1 Nicolas Lécureuil 2013-05-13 13:59:40 CEST
is bluedevil installed ?
Comment 2 claire robinson 2013-05-13 14:02:12 CEST
hrmm have to check, I'll do so now. It is listed on the ISO though..

Mageia-3-LiveCD-KDE4-en-i586-CD]$ grep blue *.lst
bluedevil-1.3-2.mga3
bluez-4.101-5.mga3
bluez-firmware-1.2-9.mga3.nonfree
libbluedevil1-1.9.2-2.mga3
libbluez3-4.101-5.mga3

LiveDVD has the same list, I checked in case it was removed to save space but haven't tested the dvd yet.

$ grep blue Mageia-3-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD/*.lst
bluedevil-1.3-2.mga3
bluez-4.101-5.mga3
bluez-firmware-1.2-9.mga3.nonfree
libbluedevil1-1.9.2-2.mga3
libbluez3-4.101-5.mga3
Comment 3 claire robinson 2013-05-13 14:05:24 CEST
Seems libbluedevil1, libbluez3 and bluez-firmware are but not bluedevil itself

Comment 4 Olivier Blin 2013-05-13 16:13:45 CEST
Which version of the drakxtools and harddrake do you have installed?

Actually, it seems you also have some hardware issue, you have many of these about the bluetooth adapter:
May 13 12:37:24 localhost kernel: usb 4-2: USB disconnect, device number 2

CC: (none) => mageia

Comment 5 claire robinson 2013-05-13 16:34:05 CEST
It's only a cheap BT adapter and only really used to test ISOs with now so could be a problem with it.

KDE LiveDVD is fine though and also Mageia 2 is ok with it so it's only an issue with the LiveCD so far.

$ grep -e drakxtools -e harddrake Mageia-3-LiveCD-KDE4-en-i586-CD/*.lst
drakxtools-15.50-1.mga3
drakxtools-backend-15.50-1.mga3
drakxtools-curses-15.50-1.mga3
harddrake-15.50-1.mga3
harddrake-ui-15.50-1.mga3
Comment 6 claire robinson 2013-05-13 16:37:19 CEST
I think I must have unplugged it and plugged it back in for the journal output, so actually seeing the same thing twice.
Comment 7 claire robinson 2013-05-13 16:49:12 CEST
Booting from pre 3 final kde livedvd (rather than livecd), icons shows as normal and pairs ok with a mobile phone which can then be browsed.

Summary: kde livecd has no bluetooth => kde live isos have no bluetooth

Comment 9 claire robinson 2013-05-15 13:04:10 CEST
Using MCC to browse hardware with the adapter plugged in asks to install bluedevil.

Comment 10 claire robinson 2013-05-18 03:24:41 CEST
Fixed in live mode in latest final isos but with usb dongle unplugged bluedevil is removed when removing unused packages so will be broken when installed.
Comment 11 claire robinson 2013-05-18 04:27:00 CEST
confirmed live cd & live dvd
Comment 12 Thomas Backlund 2013-05-18 11:11:46 CEST
I will work around this for mga3...

for mga4 we need to rethink the manual encoding of deps in meta-task to be more automatic, and an way on live images to be able to unselect some of the packages suggested for removal
Comment 13 Thomas Backlund 2013-05-18 22:41:35 CEST
fixed with draklive file replacement for mga3 live images, and fix queued in /soft for cauldron / future mga3 updates
