There is an /etc/nss-ldapd.conf file in the package, which is not used and could be a source of confusion, as it sets uid and gid parameters, but the gid parameter is incorrect, and these settings are actually taken from /etc/nslcd.conf.

This file is apparently present in the package since its initial import in mandriva, and I have no clue why... I just dropped it.
