Make sure you have a bootable live CD and a small USB stick or SD card that will work in the machine. Boot into the installed Mageia and download these three files:- http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/2/x86_64/os-prober-1.53-0.mga2.x86_64.rpm http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/2/x86_64/grub2-2.0-1.4412.mga2.x86_64.rpm http://mtf.no-ip.co.uk/pub/mychroot Copy the file 'mychroot' to a USB or SD for use later. cd into the download folder and :- su urpmi os-prober-1.53-0.mga2.x86_64.rpm urpmi grub2-2.0-1.4412.mga2.x86_64.rpm WAIT for the prompt to re-appear it may take a while. Now close down Mageia and repair Windows so that it boots again as it did without Mageia. I can't help here but I guess the Windows install media will offer to do this. Once you have the machine booting into Windows with no sign of Mageia or grub, then shut down and boot into a live CD of Mageia or whatever you have. Insert the USB/SD card and copy 'mychroot' to the home folder. now: cd chmod +x mychroot su ./mychroot sda5 grub2-install /dev/sda WAIT for the prompt to return then CTRL/d CTRL/d Now close down the live CD session and re-boot - a prayer may also be useful ;)
